On April 1st 2023 co-owners Santo Roman and Carolyn Beko took over Redmond Rare Coins from Richard Holbrook. Don't worry, most days you can still find Rick at the shop doing a crossword! Very few people have as much numismatic knowledge as Rick and we're thankful to have him as a mentor. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to keep the shop running, serving longtime customers and welcoming new ones to our community.
We will continue the long tradition of providing our clients with great pricing, helping them find rare coins and educating on stacking and storing wealth in precious metals. We look forward to working with you and invite you to stop in to see what's new.

The Silver Buffalo is a legal tender Silver bullion coin designed after James Earle Fraser's renowned Indian Head and Buffalo Nickel series. The Silver Buffalos' reverse design features an American buffalo, which is modeled after Black Diamond – the New York Central Park Zoo's resident buffalo in the early 20th century. Redmond Rare Coins was started back in 1995 when Ralph Solomon began selling numismatic coins out of his home in Redmond, Washington. In 1999, he and fellow coin collector, Chet Smith would open Redmond Rare Coins in Kirkland, Washington. Yes, Redmond Rare Coins is actually in Kirkland, one city over from Redmond.
With several decades of experience in the numismatic world, Chet and Ralph grew Redmond Rare Coins to become a mecca for silver & gold coin collectors and stackers. Throughout the years they made several friends/clients, helped build amazing collections, educated customers on the ways of stacking silver and gold as a savings and hedge against inflation.
As they both got older their health declined. First to cash in his gold ticket was Ralph in 2015, followed by Chet in 2017. Already working alongside Chet and Ralph, Rick Holbrook stepped in to take over the shop. Rick had retired from running his own coin shop in Bellevue for 30 years, but the new opportunity pulled him in.
After 5 years, Rick decided to sell the shop, so In April of 2023 the store was purchased by Santo and Carolyn. The shop will still cater to those wanting to stack silver & gold coins and bars plus we intend to bring in more numismatic coins. We always have new and interesting precious metals for sale. Plus our jewelry case where you can buy 10, 14 and 22/24k gold at spot!
When you want to sell, we will buy your gold and silver at fair market value. In the event of an estate, we can review the contents and will make you a fair offer for items we can resell. We value and respect your privacy and will keep any information you share confidential. We understand the importance of trust.
