Issued during the reign of King Adolf Frederick, this original 1765 Swedish 2 Öre Silvermynt is a substantial copper coin struck to the Swedish silver monetary standard. The obverse features the crowned national arms of Sweden surrounded by three royal crowns, while the reverse displays the iconic crossed arrows beneath a royal crown with the denomination "2 OR S.M." and the date below.
Struck at the Avesta Mint, these large copper issues circulated throughout Sweden during the mid-18th century and remain popular with collectors of Scandinavian and world copper coinage. This example retains strong central detail, bold devices, and pleasing original circulation wear, making it an excellent representative of Sweden's historic copper currency.
