This 1883 Hawaiian 10 Cent piece, graded F15 by PCGS, is a scarce and historically significant coin from the Kingdom of Hawaii, issued during the reign of King Kalākaua I. Struck at the San Francisco Mint for circulation in Hawaii, this series was short-lived and is highly prized today by collectors of U.S. territorial and Hawaiian coinage.

This example displays even, honest wear consistent with the Fine grade, with full rims and well-defined major design elements. King Kalākaua’s portrait is clearly visible with strong facial detail, and the legends remain sharp. The reverse wreath and denomination retain nice definition, and the coin is free of distracting marks, cleaning, or damage.

With a relatively low mintage of just 250,000, the 1883 Hawaiian dime is far scarcer than its mintage might suggest — especially in certified, problem-free mid-circulated grades like this one.
