A tough semi-key date from the early Barber Quarter series, this 1896-O Barber Quarter was struck at the New Orleans Mint and is graded G04 by PCGS. With a relatively low mintage of 1,484,000, this issue is scarce in all grades and especially desirable in problem-free, certified condition.
Despite its heavy circulation, this example retains full rims, a clear outline of Liberty's portrait, and a fully visible date. The reverse eagle and "O" mintmark are also visible, with even, original wear and no signs of cleaning or damage. For the Good grade, this coin offers solid detail and excellent collector appeal.
Barber Quarters are known for being tough to find in lower grades due to high attrition and heavy use in commerce, and New Orleans issues add an extra layer of historical significance.
