This is the series "B" 5 pesos. The banknote depicts Liberty seated at left in black and white with shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The shield has the date 1914. The center has a black and white eagle with spread wings and having a snake in its beak with mountains in the background (the Mexican arms) on the front. The front and back are green in color with the back having a central image of a one peso coin having Liberty's bonnet in its center. The back also displays the denomination in the four corners. The note was issued in Vera Cruz on December 1st, 1914, according to the September 19, 1914 decree. The note also has two seals on the back, one red and round with scalloped edge and the other being purple and circular in shape. This note is listed in Krause "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" as pick number S1104a and is listed in Frampton Opus as M3972.
