This is a Valerian II antoninianus, struck while he was Caesar under Gallienus, circa AD 256–258. The obverse shows the young imperial heir with radiate crown and a readable VALERIANVS CAES legend — which is exactly the part you want, because without the name this would be just another third-century Roman coin trying to survive the empire’s full-blown administrative stroke.

The reverse reads PIETAS AVGG and shows sacrificial implements, the usual Roman public-relations package: “look how pious and stable we are,” printed right before everything continued falling apart anyway.

A solid, collectible Valerian II with strong portrait detail, readable legends, and enough third-century chaos baked into the surfaces to keep it honest. 21mm & 3.05g
